Bonnie Capell, our leader, is in black only, Helen Fairbourn is kneeling.
Bonnie, Helen Fairbourn and Jodel Farris led us through our upbeat musical selections. Here's our bouyant Helen, at the piano, where she accompanied some of our numbers.
Helen, Jodel and Nancy Beck took turns accompanying us. Here's Helen and Jodel, talking "piano".
Nancy is our creative pianist. You never quite know what will emerge from her gifted fingertips, but it always sounds so good! When she's not playing, she's singing soprano.
When it was suggested that we use hats for some of our numbers, the idea was met with less than an enthusiastic response. But as we progressed in our practices, the whole hat idea came together and added a colorful flourish that we began to appreciate, even if they did compromise our hair-dos.
We used them to sing, OVER THE RAINBOW and RAINDROPS KEEP FALLING ON MY HEAD. Helen led us through those numbers with her precise, easy to follow, conducting.
"Robin Williams said, 'Spring is nature's way of saying, Let's Party!' But if you want to enjoy the rainbows, you have to Sing in the Rain!"
Hats are colorful, but they won't do for rain. We used umbrellas for our next numbers, APRIL SHOWERS, which Helen said was one of our best numbers, and SINGING IN THE RAIN.
Sadly, somehow we didn't get pictures of us with our umbrellas. You will have to imagine twirling umbrellas accompanying, "I'm singin', just singin' in the rain!"
"Robert Frost said, 'The sun was warm but the wind was chill. You know how it is with an April day.'"
We were the back-up for Layne's version of CALL THE WIND MARIA. His bass voice made the song sound velvety rich.
Our hats returned for our version of WINDY. Jodel led us through the song with her explosive smile and ever-moving hands. Stephanie's grin is a reflexion of the fun we had, hats and all. The pensive look belongs to Charlotte.
Carol Wintersteen has a beautiful soprano voice, which she used to sing her rendition of THE WAYWARD WIND. We joined her for the chorus.
"Lets sing and dance in the sun wearing wild flowers in our hair...even if they do make us sneeze..." Shelly, Sharon and Reba made up a crazy fun trio that regularly brought smiles and laughter as they sang, FLOWERS THAT BLOOM. The highlight was Shelly wiping her nose on Sharon's shoulder. Giggles followed for all who noticed.
Achoo!
"John Denver was a popular singer/songwriter. Layne will sing an all-time favorite John Denver song, SUNSHINE ON MY SHOULDER." There were a few tears as the song touched the hearts of some in our audiences.
Layne and Anadeane, before one of our performances.
"The best spring weather is sunshine!"
We opened a flow of three songs with OPEN UP YOUR HEART, sung with hilarious enthusiasm by Charlotte, Linda and Stephanie. They each offered a childish verse encouraging smiles instead of frowns. "Smile", sings Charlotte.
Linda, with her magical, expressive face, promotes smiles instead of frowns, complete with a hilarious demonstration.
The many faces of Linda!

With an invite from Shelly, audiences joined us in singing, YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE and KEEP YOUR SUNNY SIDE UP!
"Thank you for brightening our day. You have been our sunshine. We hope you will always find yourselves on THE SUNNY SIDE OF THE STREET." This was our closing number!
All our concerts end with us mingling with our audiences. It is sweet to embrace them and they always make us feel good with many thanks for our musical efforts.
Charlotte and friend.
Our mingling.
Helen makes a sweet connection.
Jodel brings out the smile in everyone.
Sharon and Nancy offer happy chatter.
We always, above all, have fun performing and with each other. If we sound good, that's nice too. Friendship is one of the happy benefits of being a part of Treble Clef.
