Here's Bonnie with Carol Wintersteen. That Christmas star behind her kind of makes her our star, don't you think?
Members of the Treble Clef Singers for this Winter Concert were:
First Sopranos: Sharon Elison, Carol Wintersteen, Nancy Beck, Jodell Faris, Mary Ellen Grobe, Rena Firkins
Second Sopranos: Reba Hanson, Anadeane Galbraith, Melinda Hedges,
Altos: Linda Snelling, Mary Mowry, Pat Green, Julie Barnes, Stephanie Adolf
Bass (and our only man): Layne Galbraith
Accompanists: Helen Fairbourn, Jodel Faris, Nancy Beck
With Linda Snelling as our MC, here is how our performance proceeded:
Linda introduced all our sings with her usual enthusiasm.
"Let's begin our program of Christmas songs with, GO TELL IT ON THE MOUNTAIN, followed by HARMONY, then, MARY'S LITTLE BOY CHILE."
Jodell and Julie add sparkle to our cast of singers.
"Our next song reminds us of Isaiah's prophecy, found in the Old Testament, of the coming of the Savior, O COME, O COME EMMANUEL. Then our ensemble will sing for us about that STILL, STILL, STILL night. Followed by, WHILE SHEPHERDS WATCHED THEIR FLOCKS BY NIGHT."
Mary Ellen has a powerful, magical voice.
When she sings, her beautiful soprano voice fills the every corner of the room.
Here are some more of our singers:
Mary, a lovely alto
Rena, a soprano, and Reba sings 2nd soprano
A lovely 2nd soprano who, sadly, only sang with us for this concert.
We hope she comes back!
"Join us now in singing HARK THE HERALD ANGELS SING. We will then sing for you, ONLY A BABY CAME, followed by our Bass, Layne, sharing with us, HALLELUJAH."
Here most of us stand, ready to support Layne as he sings Hallelujah, one of our favorites.
"...we will now sing for you O COME ALL YE FAITHFUL. Then please join us in singing our last song, JOY TO THE WORLD."
Bonnie leads us at one of our favorite locations.
This is an especially receptive audience,
making the singing even more fun.
Jodell led us in HARMONY, with her usual enthusiasm. Every part of her body moves when she sings, when she plays the piano and when she leads!
As you can see by these signs, it isn't difficult at all for us to forget lyrics and song order. Bonnie keeps us on track with words and lists we can't miss.
Helen is our main accompanist, with Jodell and Nancy filling in when needed.
At the end of each performance coming a sweet time when we greet our audiences personally. There are some lovely moments that emerge from doing this.
Helen and friend.
Julie greets, with others of our ladies in the background.
Nancy offers warm greetings.
Singing with the Treble Clef Singers offers friendships, opportunities to develop singing skills, builds confidence, and earns funds for the support of charities. Our major donations go to the International Children's Surgical Foundation to be used for cleft palate repairs in developing countries. With all of these benefits, it is a win-win for us all!
