Spring Concert, 2019

Our director, Bonnie Capel, had heart surgery in the Fall of 2018, so we cancelled our Christmas concert.  By spring she was much better and enthused about singing again.  So we practiced and performed our 2019 Spring Concert series, with a Spring Flowers theme.  Helen Fairbourne took leadership, with her talented leading and accompaniment.  Bonnie advised and supported.

Our accompanists were Helen and Jodell Faris.

Chele Howell narrated, with Anadeane Galbraith substituting when needed.

The Treble Clef Singers, for the Spring of 2019:

Come to My Garden

We began our concerts with our lovely soprano Mary Ellen Grobe, singing Come To My Garden, from the musical Secret Garden.  As she sang, it wasn't hard to imagine the spirit of a loving Mother, singing to her son.

We all joined to sing English Country Garden.

Here's a closer look at two of our altos, Mary Mowry and Stephanie Adolf.

Rena Firkins has a flair for comedy, as happily expressed in the musical number, Grandmother's Old Fashioned Garden.  Her performance sparkled with animated sounds, smiles and movement.

Our ladies group has invited a bass singer named Layne Galbraith to sing with us.  He charms our audiences with his rich voice.  He sang Edelweiss, with Linda Snelling blending with her alto voice and guitar.

Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White was a very popular song in its time.  We recreated it again for our next number.

Two of our lovely ladies, Carol Wintersteen and Cheryl Patton.

Layne returned to sing, I Talk to the Trees, from the musical Paint Your Wagon.  Here he is, getting ready.

Fun times in between songs; Sharon Elison, Mary Mowry, Rena Firkins, Reba Hanson.

The fun continued with a song we've sung with pleasure before:  Flowers That Bloom in the Spring.
Sharon and Mary carried the song with delicious humor.

Achoo!

Next came a group favorite, Sweet Violets, which we have included in previous concerts.  As the group sang the twisted verses, Layne and Anadeane acted out the parts of on-again and off-again sweethearts.  In the end Anadeane preferred her "sweet violets" to the promises of her farmer boyfriend.

Reba Hanson turned Lonely Little Petunia into a treat with her happy personality and musical suggestion to "come and bloom with me."

Here's a lovely view of of a smiling Cheryl Patton.

Carol Wintersteen's lovely soprano voice offered a version of Little Purple Pansies that everyone enjoyed.

Our closing number was Coming Up Roses, complete with moves and flowers.  It was a greats way to end!

What fun we have, singing and mingling with the lovely people that make up our audiences.

And so another season ends.  Let's celebrate!
